Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plansWe are aware of the impact that fashion has on the planet, and the importance in reducing this impact. As it is our duty, we have adapted the way in which we operate with the launch of our new sustainability initiative 'Going ECO'. This initiative encompasses our products, packaging, company practices, and our delivery methods, all of which we look to continue improving on to responsibly create fashion.Sustainability initiativesThrough attention to detail and an innovative approach, we are committed to creating garments which leave a minimal environmental footprint without compromising on style or quality. We pride ourselves on our Sarta Naturale range which features garments made from natural fibres such as cotton or silk. These are our kind-to-the-earth pieces which are staples for a conscious fashion collection. Our Sock Talk range also showcases our commitment to improving our sustainable actions with personality defining bamboo and cotton socks. Each piece in our collection is brought in at a limited quantity as to reduce waste. Whilst each piece may have a limited quantity, we have a range of designs and shapes to choose from to aid in the curation of the perfect collection.PackagingOur packaging is made with recycled contentWe are in the process of making our packaging plastic freeWe have also reduced our packaging waste, with our packaging now being made from 99% recycled materials and being 100% recyclable.

Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plansWe are sustainable environmentally friendly brand.Sustainability initiativesOur product is manufactured with recycled leather that has been wasted by factories (scrap and left over leather) and dead stock materials. For us, sustainability means to respect the material using every single part you can so nothing goes to the waste.Social equity at your companyAll our bags are made in India by small, independent artisans from rural communities, which we work closely to help grow their business and production capabilities. The partnership with them is the best method of job creation in low income environments and also a way to preserve generational craftsmanship. All our artisans are trained adults over 18, who receive beyond fair trade wages. The economic empowerment gives them the opportunity to stay in their villages, supporting their family, and they will be less likely to migrate to urban areas.PackagingOur packaging is made with recycled contentMaterialsWe have products made from recycled materialsOur products are made from upcycled materialsOur products are plastic freeWe have created products that provide an alternative to single use plasticWe have products made from sustainability sourced raw materialsEthical ConsiderationsFair wages are paid to the people who make our productsOur products are made by people employed in good working conditionsWe challenge our suppliers to report any ethical issues they identifyWe have an ethical policyWithin the workplace where our products are made there is commitment to Non-Discrimination Gender Equality and Freedom of AssociationEnviromental ImpactWe have a sustainability policyWe consider the environmental impact when creating our productsSome of the processes we use to manufacture products are energy efficientSome of the processes we use to manufacture products are water efficient

Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plansSustainability has been at the core of EMU Australia since the very beginning. For over 25 years, our focus has always been on using the very best, natural and sustainable materials that Mother Nature provides us with, to create high-quality footwear that lasts. Unlike man-made fibres, the Ever-Natural materials we use, like Australian Merino wool, premium leather and Australian sheepskin, are world-renowned for their super-natural qualities, including next-to-skin softness, as well as being renewable, biodegradable and 100% natural.Sustainability initiativesIn our essence, we believe in working with natural materials and not creating or consuming quickly. We strive for sustainable consumption patterns by producing enduring and weatherproof footwear that can be worn year after year. We believe that creating quality products that last, means that we allow people to make a more sustainable purchases when they invest in their footwear rather than cycling through fast fashion.Pledges for the yearThis persistent mission to produce sustainable footwear saw us proudly win The Best Sustainable Footwear Brand at the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2022.Sustainable ProductsPlatinum CollectionOriginals CollectionNest CollectionAccessories CollectionAT THE FAIRNEW TO THE FAIRCertified sustainable products by third partyCERTIFIEDCertified byThe Woolmark CompanyPackagingOur packaging is made with recycled contentMaterialsWe have products made from sustainability sourced raw materialsAustralian Merino wool, in particular, is a very important material used across our collection. Our wool fibres biodegrade in just 6 months, unlike synthetic fibres which can take up to 40 years to biodegrade. Our premium Merino wool has been accredited by AWI (Australian Wool Innovation) and we work very closely with The Woolmark Company, with many of our products being Woolmark Accredited and carrying the Woolmark Logo, to ensure we remain committed to high ethical standards and use premium materials sourced by ethical Australian farmers.Enviromental ImpactOur products are created to help consumers try and reduce their carbon footprintSome of the processes we use to manufacture products are water efficientAs well as using natural Australian sheepskin to craft our products, we are consistently innovating to create more sustainable ways of crafting our Platinum Collection, such as our use of an eco-tan process meaning there’s no harm made to the environment or humans, and there is 30% less water waste than traditional tanning methods.

Sustainability Role in overall company's strategic plansCentral to QuayStones ethos is to step as lightly on the planet as possible and to bring awareness of environmental issues such as sea pollution, coastal erosion and species decline through our designs.Sustainability initiativesFrom the start we have used reclaimed metals to make our jewellery and ensure all our products are hallmarked for quality. We use found and reused objects in our designs and in the point of sale supplied to new customers. Our packaging has been chosen for its eco-friendly credentials and we reuse and recycle as much as we can.Pledges for the yearWe would like to reduce our carbon foot print further and will be looking at ways to save energy and time in production and supply. To this end we have invested in smelting equipment to reuse in house all the scrap metal generated in production.Sustainable ProductsStrata jewellery collectionThe Strata jewellery collection, cast from reclaimed silver, was designed to highlight coastal erosion as the pieces were based on the vanishing rock formations that can be found along the Northumbrian coast.Recycled silver jewelleryQuayStones currently buys all it’s silver from suppliers that use reclaimed metal and from 2024 we will be smelting our own scrap silver to reuse in sheet and cast form. As always every piece will have a full Edinburgh office assay mark as a guarantee of metal purity.Sea glass JewelleryWe have always collected sea glass on our walks and now we are using this in our designs. Because of the nature of this material every piece of our sea glass jewellery is unique.AT THE FAIRSocial equity at your companyQuayStones is very invested in the community of their town and is regularly involved in local events such as fund raising and beach clean ups.PackagingOur packaging is made with recycled contentOtherOur packaging was chosen from a range designated as eco-friendly and supported by EU regulations.MaterialsWe have products made from recycled materialsOur products are made from upcycled materialsOur bullion comes from Cooksons who now only supply reclaimed metals and we use sea glass in some specific designs.Ethical ConsiderationsFair wages are paid to the people who make our productsOur products are made by people employed in good working conditionsAll our products are made in the UK and therefore the suppliers are all subject to UK employment law.Enviromental ImpactWe have a sustainability policyWe consider the environmental impact when creating our productsWe have chosen our suppliers and packaging based on their eco-policies and use of recycling and eco-friendly products (Dahlinger eco-packaging)
