British Fashion Awards winners announced
The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced the winners of the British Fashion Awards 2012, hosted at The Savoy Hotel in London.
The evening saw 14 awards presented to leading figures in fashion, recognising creative talent and design excellence across all areas of the industry. It was attended by industry leaders, retailers, models amd celebrities.

Panache launches collaboration with Hemingway Design
Leading lingerie label Panache has launched a new line titled Hemingway Vintage Lingerie, a collaboration with Hemingway Design for autumn/winter 13.
Lead by fashion legend Wayne Hemingway's wife Geraldine and daughter Tilly, Heritage Vintage Lingerie takes inspiration from the 40s and 50s, epitomising design with glamour and luxury.

Camel Active launches womenswear line
Lifestyle label Camel Active has expanded its portfolio to include a line of womenswear for the autumn/winter 13 season.
The new range of feminine and sporty outdoor jackets will be introduced to Germany, France, the UK, Denmark and the Scandinavian markets in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

BFA invites footwear industry to Shoe Lounge event
The British Footwear Association (BFA) has invited the footwear industry to join them at The Shoe Lounge; an inspiring talk and networking event with two of the UK's most successful shoe designers on 5 December.
Designers Julian Hakes and Souraya Karami will be discussing how they manage key issues such as establishing a strong USP and brand identity, routes to market, managing production and PR and marketing.

INVISTA reveals Legwear Innovation trends collection
INVISTA, a leading global producer of fibres and polymers, has revealed its Legwear Innovation trends collection for 2013-2014.
The collection consists of eight key trends including Illusionist, featuring optical effects such as twisted lace, and Baroque Splendour (pictured) which focuses on super-luxe and opulent patterns reminiscent of the baroque period.

Nominations open for Footwear Industry Awards
Nominations are now open for the second edition of the annual Footwear Industry Awards. The event will be held on the first night of Moda Footwear on Sunday 17 February 2013 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
The awards, organised in association with the British Footwear Association (BFA), Independent Footwear Retailers Association (IFRA), Society of Shoe Fitters and Footwear Today, encourage nominations from the footwear industry for either companies or individuals in each of the relevant categories.

FLIP extends its reach for February
Following its successful inaugural show in August, FLIP is set to further expand its reach for its second edition.
Having launched as an urban, street, board and action sports lifestyle exhibition following the industry’s call for a dedicated UK trade show for the sector, the show is now developing further.

Couromoda and São Paulo Prêt-à-Porter to showcase over 3,500 brands
The Couromoda fair will celebrate its 40th edition alongside São Paulo Prêt-à-Porter when both events take place in the same week of January 2013 in Brazil.
By holding both fairs at the same time, they bring together 3,500 brands and occupy 100,000 sqm of the Anhembi and Expo Center Norte exhibition pavilions in the centre of Brazil.

UKFT expands annual Tie Lunch
The UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT) and The Guild of British Tie Makers’ annual lunch has expanded this year to include the glamorous ballroom at The Dorchester Hotel in London.
The event, which takes place on 12 December 2012, celebrates the best of British menswear in the supply and retail sectors. This year’s sponsors include leading industry trade title MWB magazine and Moda, the UK’s largest fashion trade exhibition.

Stars Awards winners announced
Stars: Underlines Best Shop Awards 2012 announced the winners of its retail awards in a ceremony at the Cumberland Hotel in London’s West End on 8 November.
The event, sponsored by Underlines Magazine and Moda Lingerie & Swimwear headline sponsors INVISTA (owner of the Lycra® fibre brand), saw 225 stores, shops, brands and VIPs attend the ceremony which paid homage to the excellence of retailers from both the UK and Ireland.

'Town Teams' to receive government help
More than 300 towns across the country have been offered government help to revitalise their high streets, Local Growth Minister Mark Prisk announced yesterday.
The chosen towns will benefit from a package of support from both the government and leading retail experts as well as a share of the £5million government-sponsored funding.

Eveden rolls out Huit range in Asia
Eveden Group is set to roll out its trend-led Huit range in Asia. The announcement is the group’s first phase of development since becoming a subsidiary of Japan-based company Wacoal Holdings.
Huit’s full lingerie and swimwear collection will be available in Wacoal-owned stores and affiliated wholesale stockists in Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia in the run-up to spring 2013. In April, the brand then plans to launch in Wacoal’s stores in China.

DMU student wins global final of Triumph Inspiration Awards
De Montfort University (DMU) student Sian Whitefoot has won the global final of the Triumph Inspiration Awards (TIA), hosted at Shanghai Fashion Week.
Sian, who is in her final year of DMU’s Contour Fashion course, qualified for the international event after winning the UK final with her Ecliptic Renewal design (pictured).

UKFT celebrates British manufacturing with installation
The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) showcased the best in UK manufacturing with a specially commissioned installation at the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) in Westminster, London.
The UKFT, with help from members Johnstons of Elgin and Peregrine, created the installation using textiles, men’s tailoring, footwear and manufacturing maps.

Esska launches accessories range
Contemporary women’s footwear brand Esska has introduced an accessories line to its offering, which is designed to complement its existing footwear range.
The 10-piece accessories line comprises of leather jewellery, clutch bags and purses featuring bold colours and geometric designs.

UK Lingerie Awards announces winners
The UK Lingerie Awards 2012 has announced this year’s winners at a star-studded dinner which took place at London’s One Mayfair on 19 September.
A host of labels seen at last month’s Moda Lingerie & Swimwear show received industry recognition including Curvy Kate which took away the Full Bust Brand of the Year and Marketing Campaign of the Year awards.

Moda in Pelle begins major expansion
Women’s fashion footwear label Moda in Pelle has revealed its plans for a major expansion, adding to its portfolio of 30 stores already in the UK.
The brand, which also reported a successful show at Moda Footwear last month, has unveiled its new concept store in St Albans, marking the first of 10 new store openings in the UK over the next year.

My Shapes launches into Harrods
Sculpting and weight-reducing shapewear brand My Shapes is set to launch into Harrods Pharmacy on 1 October 2012.
The brand, which launched into the UK market at Moda Lingerie & Swimwear last month, is the first to be clinically certified to improve metabolism and reduce signs of cellulite. Its products use an innovative fibre called Emana to stimulate blood microcirculation and cellular metabolism.

Jack & Jones set for UK expansion
Danish-owned menswear retailer Jack & Jones is continuing its UK expansion by opening four new stores in both high street and shopping centre locations across the country.
Jack & Jones, which debuted its footwear collection in Moda Footwear's urban area Select last month, will open stores in Carlisle, Exeter, Swansea and Cwmbran.
