INTERSPORT UK has signed an agreement to install NCR EPoS hardware and Cegid retail software across its Intersport stores over the next 24 months.
INTERSPORT UK has partnered with worldwide hardware provider SPC International, which will manage the installation of NCR equipment, along with retail specialists Retail IT which will install and support the Cegid Business Retail (CBR) software.
The first five stores will have new software and hardware by the end of March 2014, followed by 20 stores by the end of April and a further 25 by the end of June.
Having a common platform will enable INTERSPORT affiliated retailers enjoy the benefits of being part of a large retail group whilst retaining independence and individuality.
CBR, delivered and supported by Retail IT, is a flexible, highly configurable solution, which will work seamlessly with INTERSPORT UK head office systems and retailers’ ecommerce platforms, should they wish. CBR can manage stock in real-time. So stores could be auto-replenished with the right sizes and styles at the right time and the need for end of line sales and price reductions is reduced. The whole stock management process becomes efficient and cost effective.
NCR hardware, supported by SPC, is the world leader in sales technology, with simple to use EPoS systems designed to minimise downtime, reduce training time and enhance the customer experience with fast, easy and convenient transactions.
As approved suppliers, NCR and Cegid will offer member stores world-class hardware and cutting edge software and will be supported by experienced providers in SPC International and Retail IT, who fully understand the complexities of delivering a retail project.
Tom Foley, general manager, Intersport: “We chose to work with SPC & Retail IT because of their experience of working with retail organisations similar in structure to our own. Additionally it was their strong partnership approach, their understanding of issues facing retailers on the ground and the culture of innovation that exists within their organization. We think the introduction of Cegid software in our stores will mean greater analysis of product performance within our affiliated retailer stores leading to better planning, better buying, improved stock turn and achieved margin for our retailers.”
Graham Holt, IT Manager, AI Stores: “After reviewing several potential software partners, we have chosen the Cegid CBR solution from Retail IT and SPC as it provides a flexible solution for our business, supported by companies who have a proven record of implementation and support of this product, for many significant retail organisations.”
