Dasmarca hat company celebrates the story of London with a millinery journey which will be unveiled at this season’s Moda Gent. The brand has collaborated with award-winning photographer Dean Chalkley to toast the traditional styles of men’s millinery through a striking campaign for a/w 17.
“If fashion is a type of communication, a hat is its distinguishing accent; a fashion accessory suggesting one’s status, personality and lifestyle at a glance,” says Dasmarca’s founder Bidyut Das. “A symbol of culture, politics and society, the hat remains one of history’s most telling accessories.”
The photographic campaign supports the launch of Dasmarca’s London Postcode Collection, which draws inspiration from five distinct boroughs of London. Influenced by the industry of Shoreditch, the intellectualism of Bloomsbury, the businessmen of Soho, the broadcasters of Chelsea and the labourers of Knightsbridge, the London Postcode Collection represents the social, professional and cultural legacies of each of these areas.
Established in 2011, Dasmarca is a gentleman’s millinery specialist. Each style is handmade by artisans on Oxfordshire, and each line within the Postcode Collection is limited to a quantity of just 100 of each.
