The art of window dressing


New footwear independent NooShoos fought off competition from stores all over the world to win a global window display competition this Christmas. The Lancashire-based independent is the first UK store to win the prize in the annual contest, hosted by global brand and Moda Footwear exhibitor Art

The owner of the store – which opened in Clitheroe last spring – was awarded a $5,000 prize in recognition of her seasonal window display of Art’s a/w 16 collection. 

“I always take pride in my window displays,” says owner Amy Steventon. “But having only begun trading six months ago, I am over the moon about winning the contest.”

Art’s UK distributor Robert Sewell was the first to congratulate Steventon on her accolade, which marks a first for the global brand. 

“This is the first time that a UK store has won first prize,” he says. “Nooshoos was up against many stores from around the world, some of which have huge window display budgets, and Amy fought off competition from runners up in Italy, Belgium and France.”

Art will return to Moda Footwear next month with its new a/w 17 collection.
