Moda Footwear exhibitor Joe Browns has revealed sales growth of 30 per cent during its first quarter this year. The brand – which made its debut at Moda Footwear in February and has already committed to return in August – has reported that its direct sales are up by 30 per cent in the 11 weeks to 9 April this year.
The news comes on the back of sales growth for the brand last year, which saw growth of 27 per cent in the six weeks leading up to Christmas. Those at the helm of the business have attributed its success to not only delivering the right product, but to maintaining price points despite wider pressure to attract sales with early discounting.
“We held our nerve by not discounting early in December, and again when a lot of retailers were rolling out new season discounts at the beginning of the year,” says founder and managing director Simon Brown. “We are confident we are giving the customer exactly what they want, and we will continue to do that this season.”
Joe Browns attended Moda Footwear for the first time in February in a move to replicate its success with direct sales to a wholesale business model. The show was a phenomenal success for the brand – uniting an established high street favourite with like-minded retailers looking to stock appealing, relevant and contemporary footwear.
The brand immediately committed to return this August, and will showcase its summer of contemporary women’s footwear. See more ahead of the show here
