Q&A: Latte


Latte launched a new-look collection at this season’s Moda, taking the label into a contemporary new era without losing its hallmark identity. Creative director Adele Black reveals more about how the collection was received. 

Q: How has Latte developed for spring / summer 18? 
A: Latte felt it was important to capture that extra contemporary look for S/S 18, without alienating the customer. Taking inspiration from a more lady-like, graceful feel, this season Latte features more feminine undertones. Also, the brand has grown -  particularly over the last three years - and is now a 150 piece collection including some key statement accessory pieces.

Q: Was this well-received at Moda? 
A: The collection was very well-received and enabled us to achieve our expectations. The changes were warmly received by our existing customers, and that - together with a strong colourful collection - was reflected in our sales.

Q: Did the new look Latte collection attract any new stockists? 
A: Yes, word has spread and we are delighted to have increased our client base. We met independent stores and boutiques from throughout the UK & Ireland, and achieved the business that we were hoping to achieve at Moda. 

Q: What did you think of the show overall? 
A: We had a good show and we were very pleased with the final results.  There does, however, seem to be less enthusiasm currently for attending exhibitions.  We would hope this trend would be reversed this season with fresh ideas and increasing numbers of both national and international buyers.

Q: What does A/W 18 have in store? 
A: A/W 17 is currently selling extremely well so, for A/W 18, we will continue to offer A quirky, edgy, luxury point of difference – at affordable prices.  We have a few surprises up our sleeves – watch this space!
