This season saw leading footwear label K-Swiss show at Moda Footwear for the very first time. Here, UK & Ireland country sales manager Richard Morris reveals all about his experiences of the show.
Q: What was your overall impression of Moda Footwear?
A: Very positive. It was a busy and professionally set-up show. We met retailers from all over the UK & Ireland, most of which were independents. Suffice to say, the show was a success for us?
Q: What was the reaction like to the collection?
A: Quite honestly, it was excellent to both the men’s and women’s collections. The remarks from buyers were that the quality, materials and attention to detail made our products very good value for money, and that they hit all the key looks for s/s 18.
Q: Were there any stand-out styles for spring?
A: Styles performed well pretty much across the board, but new styles Aeronaut, Donovan, Court Cheswick Suede, Backspin Canvas were all particularly well-received, as were current favourites Court Frasco, Aero Trainer and Clean Court.
Q: Why is K-Swiss such a hit amongst independent retailers?
A: we have been around for 51 years, so customers know our name and trust our products. Our shoes are well made in quality materials, on-trend and commercially-priced.
Q: How do you support your stockists?
A: In a whole host of ways; in-store point of sale material, quality imagery for websites and social media and consumer competitions and just some of the ways we help retailers to promote the brand. We also offer a range of bespoke packages to support retailers individual needs.
Q: What can we expect to see for a/w 18?
A: We will build on our heritage and strength in Courtstyle products, and continue to grow our Active and Gen K categories. We are always looking to push forward and reflect new trends and, consequently, you will see more evidence of our rich 90s back catalogue in A/W 18.
K-Swiss has already confirmed it will return to Moda Footwear on 18-20 February next year. Don’t miss the launch of the full a/w 18 range at the industry’s main footwear exhibition.
