Emreco has gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons, adding more stockists to its territory with every edition of Moda Woman. Here marketing manager Martina Davis explains why Moda is such an integral part of its wholesale strategy.
Q: How was Moda Woman last month?
A: Moda was a great success for us again this season, and we were delighted with how busy our stand was for the duration of the show. We always feel there is a positive energy surrounding us at Moda, and it’s great meeting with both current and new customers and getting all their feedback on last season and the forthcoming ones.
Q: Did you achieve the business you were hoping to achieve?
A: We did. We took more orders than we did the season before which was a real positive as the industry is tough just now. Our team has a real passion for what we are selling, and that really helps drive business for us. We take part in the catwalk each season which is fantastic for driving new customers to the stand, and we always make sure the stand has a new, fresh feel, so people notice us.
Q: What prompted you to make an early commitment to returning to the show next season?
A: Having had a really strong few seasons at Moda, we are hoping that this continues. The location is great as is it so accessible, so it makes it a lot easier for buyers to come somewhere more central in the country.
Q: What’s in store for the new autumn / winter 2018 collection?
A: We are really excited about this range; there is a real influence of previous decades being rehashed on the catwalk, so customers can look forward to a warm, rich colour palette, a plethora of fabrics and textures and new and exciting prints. We are having a real focus on making items wearable yet contemporary; we want our customers to feel stylish but comfortable.
Q: What sort of buyers would you like to meet at the show in February?
A: We want to meet buyers from stores that are moving with the times and we can fit into. It’s important we meet buyers that we can really engage with and build a strong relationship with. It’s great meeting people who understand our brand and the collections, and buy into the real fashion pieces to create a strong, Emreco look within their store.
Q: What are your favourite aspects of Moda?
A: Seeing customers on the stand get excited about the range is a great feeling; it makes all the hard work worth it when people really get behind the range!
