Original Penguin has promised “more surprises” this summer following a successful debut at Moda Gent last month. The contemporary menswear label – which heralded a new era of company development with its attendance at the show – has pledged to build upon its debut at the show with new developments across its core lines.
“We were a late addition to Moda Gent last month, but we were very happy with what we achieved both from an order-writing point of view and the leads generated,” says Paul Bonnett, the brand’s key account manager. “We have already turned several of those leads into new customers since the show, and have had very positive conversations and further meetings booked with others.”
Those at the helm of the brand cited buyers’ reactions to the collection as the key indicator of how the brand will continue to develop in the future.
“Those who had not seen Original Penguin for a while were surprised by the elevation of the product, its quality and commercial appeal, all without any compromise to its strong handwriting,” continues Bonnett. “Buyers can expect to see more of the same for s/s 18, with more surprises and a commercial yet playful collection in line with the original Penguin identity.”
