The Healthy Back Bag Company has reported an increase in revenue of 20 per cent throughout last year. The brand – which maintains a regular presence at Moda Footwear – attributed its growth to the relaunch of its leather styles, improved production schedules and its policy of supporting its retailers from the smallest independent through to department stores.
“We met many challenges in 2015 related to our global expansion and our goal of bringing production timescales forward, and this was during extremely challenging times for UK retailers,” says managing director Priscilla Chase. “I am sure that our efforts to maintain excellent trade relationships have helped see this uplift in sales, and we continue to value these relationships which are at the core of our activity. 2016 brings an exciting range of opportunities for us relating to worldwide activity and continued global expansion.”
The brand has cited its policy of excellent retail support as being particularly integral to its growth throughout the last quarter of last year, a time which saw many retailers affected by widespread flooding. “Credit terms and stock management were used to help those independent retailers who suffered flooding before Christmas, while strong creative and marketing support alongside excellent customer service also continue to feature highly in trade relationships,” continues Chase.
The brand will now look to build upon its growth for the a/w 16 with the unveiling of its latest styles at Moda. Alongside its new urban styles (pictured), the brand will launch a third collaboration with textile designer Margo Selby, ehile a range of Rio bags are already in production ahead of this year’s Olympics.
