Footwear first for Joma


Joma Sport may be a global lifestyle label, but this season it’s all about the footwear. Read on to discover why you need to be one of the UK footwear specialists bringing the brand on board this autumn. 

For over five decades, Joma Sport has been a leader in the sports apparel field. Renowned for its style and performance, the brand is renowned across the sports spectrum from volleyball to tennis; football to basketball. 

In recent seasons however, demand for more casual lifestyle collections has influence Joma’s direction. Inspired by the rich sporting heritage in every design, consumers and retailers alike saw te opportunity to bring the sporting styles into the fashion mainstream – and Joma Sport is teetering on the edge of an exciting new phase of development. 

“Joma has progressed over the years from its soccer boot roots to the casual and fashion ranges that we are known for today,” says export manager Gema Blanco. “Footwear in particular has become a key focus for us and, having previously been known for our textiles, the demand for shoes has been increasing from season to season.”

The extent of the range will be revealed at Moda Footwear this weekend, when Joma Sport arrives with a range of retro leather casual shoes and sports casual models for men, women and children. The arrival at the show is part of a wider strategy to position the brand firmly within the mainstream fashion sector through partnerships with quality footwear independents nationwide. 

“We are hoping to bring new specialists on board who can help us to diversify the range we currently offer,” says Blanco. “The brand has a wide variety of product with great value for money, and an efficient 72 hour delivery service, so we are certainly well-placed to become a key player for a/w 18.”
