Five minutes with…. Laura West

As secretary at the Society of Shoefitters and a longstanding key figure in the footwear industry, Laura West is a familiar face at Moda Footwear. Here she reveals why she’s particularly keen to see retailers out in force at this season’s event.

The Society of Shoe Fitters and The Footwear & Foot Health Register will be pleased to see you at Moda, and at the accompanying Footwear Industry Awards Dinner.

Moda is a rare chance to see head office staff from major manufacturers under one roof.  It’s also a great way of saving money when buying, as you can compare ranges and therefore make fewer mistakes.  It also saves you the inconvenience of making numerous diary dates for agents and representatives to call (and maybe the embarrassment of not placing an order when they do).

It is a big investment for the brands to meet retailers, so it needs retailers to make the small effort to spend a day or two to look round, squeeze the flesh and see what is on offer.

In addition, Datateam has put together another glittering and affordable awards dinner to reward the industry’s great and the good (and the new and the ancient).  Not everyone can be a winner, but the S.S.F. are delighted to award our Student of the Year 2017, the Fisher-George Memorial Trophy. No two events are the same and this year there will be a disco, fun and frivolity, so please come and enjoy a knees-up in the company of other crazy trade professionals.

Join Laura West and thousands of other trade professionals at Moda this season on 18-20 February. Register now and make sure your name is on the list.
