Two of the industry’s most established agents have combined their years of experience with the launch of their own footwear label. Graham Baister and Martin Davey established women’s boot specialist Oak & Hyde in 2014 and, starting with its debut at Moda Footwear next month, the brand is ready to be launched to the trade.
“We are looking to meet footwear retailers who understand and appreciate good quality leather product,” says co-founder Graham Baister. “We are aware of the number of established retailers who attend the show and – for those who believe in offering stylish, commercial and quality product – we feel that Oak & Hyde will be a good fit.”
Crafted from Spanish, Portuguese and Italian leathers in Spanish and Portuguese factories, Oak & Hyde blends European expertise with British design. The brand targets women seeking styles that will last from one season to the next, and initial feedback from retailers has indicated a wide, cross-demographic appeal.
“The quality of the product is our point of difference,” continues Baister. “Attention to detail is very important to us in the manufacture of our boots and sandals, and that is what sets the brand apart.”
