The footwear trade is already turning its attention to the February edition of Moda, following a wave of early commitment from exhibitors. Brands who exhibited at the s/s 18 edition of the show last month have already confirmed their attendance at Moda Footwear, on the back of a strong show, and a productive three days of selling.
“My favourite aspect of Moda Footwear is the quality of the buyers,” says Lee Patten, sales director at Joya Footwear. “Attendance was a bit lower in August but, because the quality of the buyers was better, we achieved the business we were hoping to achieve, opened new accounts on top of that, and we are still following up leads from the show a month on.”
For first-time exhibitor Vibram meanwhile, the show exceeded expectations with regards to both attendance and orders placed.
“We had a very positive experience at Moda in August,” says Vibram’s managing director Chris Wilson. “As we have been told that the February edition is traditionally even better, booking again was simply a no-brainer for us. We are already looking forward to showing the a/w 18 range to independents, larger multiples, department stores and sports retailers at the show in February, and can confirm that the Furoshiki boot range will be much-enhanced, and that there are a few surprises in store as Vibram moves into the fashion market with its revolutionary FiveFingers brand.”
Likewise for Yull, making an early commitment to the February edition of the show was an easy decision following a productive three days at Moda Footwear last month.
“We liked the show, and thought that it was worth doing again!” says Yull’s founder Sarah Watkinson-Yull. “We met with lots of new and existing customers, and it was a great opportunity to get together with everyone from the industry and catch up.”
Brands already confirmed for the February edition of the show also include Mustang Shoes, Rockport, Hotter, Rieker, Butterfly Twists, Hispanitas, Ruby Shoo, Joe Browns, K-Swiss, Peter Kaiser, Froddo, Bobux, Unisa and Tamaris. Keep up to date with all of the show’s latest signings here.
