Moda Footwear exhibitor Anatomic & Co has stepped up its plans to digitally detox the nation through shoes with a new collaboration with Kickstarter. Having first announced plans last summer to launch the In Good Company shoe – a unique design which disconnects its wearer from the Internet – the concept is now being funded as a project on global community Kickstarter until 23 April. 

Anatomic & Co first designed the shoe in conjunction with computer science students at University College London. By personalising preference, the wearer can manage and even block notifications to minimise interferences when they are in the company of friends and family. 

“We love social media, but too much of it can detach from us from what really matters in life,” says Anatomic & C’s managing director and chief designer Moema Pimentel. “We want to make the world a more sociable place to live, so the collaboration with Kickstarter offers men a unique opportunity to own a stylish pair of shoes that allows them to be in good company with friends and family.”

As a platform which brings creative projects to life, Kickstarter is supporting the project through a campaign on its site, and two exclusively styles that are only available through Kickstarter. 

Anatomic & Co is a regular exhibitor at Moda Footwear, and has a global presence in 70 countries worldwide. Styled in the UK and made in Brazil, the brand specializes in uncompromising style and comfort thanks to its unique and patented Anatomic Gel Technology. Anatomic will bring a prototype of the In Good Company shoe to Moda Footwear this August.
