Moda Noir has confirmed that it is completely sold out ahead of its s/s 18 edition. The UK’s national show for occasionwear and eveningwear has confirmed its strongest-ever line-up, with no stands remaining for the show on 6-8 August.
The confirmed line-up includes new signings Lexus (pictured) – arriving from Spain – and Luis Civit, Up to the Nines and the Gill Harvey Collection, all of which will debut with red carpet-worthy collections.
They join an established line up of international leaders including Lore Collection, Ellie Wilde, Mon Cheri, Mascara, Rosa Clara, L’Atelier, Linea Raffaelli, Sonia Pena, Ronald Joyce, Gabriella Sanchez, Cabotine, John Charles, Ann Balon, Carla Ruiz, Paola Collection, and the Veromia portfolio.
The prom sector is equally well-represented, with global labels Red & Royal, Prom Frocks, Envious Couture Prom, Mac Duggal and Mori Lee all launching their new spring offers at Moda Noir.
“The latest line-up confirms that Moda Noir is the only destination for evening and occasionwear,” says event director Sarah Moody. “Having already sold out on an extended floor space, we are proud to be hosting a buoyant round-up of the industry’s leading names for special occasions, weddings, the races and prom, and any retailer seeking to buy in these fields can take advantage of seeing the full spectrum of s/s 18 within one accessible location.”
For womenswear retailers, evening and occasionwear is a key focus this s/s 18, following strong sales across the board this summer.
“Business has been extremely buoyant this s/s 17,” admits Tracie Beardsley, director at independent womenswear boutique Fab Frocks in Westbourne, Bournemouth. “We have been busy since December with mother-of-the-bride (and groom), and we are sensing that customers are keen to get sorted early for weddings, with price points not really seeming to be an issue. We will be attending Moda with a view to buying into this sector again, as well as prom and wedding guest outfits. Dress Code and Veromia Occasions have been phenomenal this season, and we are also keen to see Linea Raffaelli, but we always keep an eye out for fresh looks and summer dresses at a good price point.”
