A grades for DB

Moda Footwear exhibitor DB Shoes has revealed an overwhelming level of customer satisfaction following its most recent collection. The brand – which specialises in footwear for wider feet – has been gathering the feedback in the lead up to its 100 year anniversary, and those at the helm of the label have been delighted with the customer comments.

“DB Shoes is a longstanding company with a rich heritage and we hope a firm reputation for providing quality, well-fitting shoes," says Charles Denton, current joint owner of the family-run company. “It's always reassuring to hear directly from the end consumer that the products are hitting the mark, because we really do create these shoes to help people. It’s particularly rewarding when new consumers become aware of the products, and how beneficial they can be.”

Customer feedback for the most recent autumn and spring collections has praised the styles on offer as well as the fit – something which DB Shoes has increased its focus on in recent seasons.

“There’s more of a choice of designs now,” says customer Ms R, from Solihull, West Midlands. “I need a wider, deeper shoe and have bought several pairs, including the stretchy designs, which have been a welcome addition. I would recommend them.”

A new demogpraphic of customers has also started to discover the label – and its fit benefits – following its style diversification.

“I thought for years that I had normal, standard size five feet, and that it was normal to stretch a pair to fit,” admits Ms Z from Eastbourne, East Sussex. “Finding DB Wider Fit has been a revelation! I know now that I am size 5 with an E fitting and I can wear practically anything from practical to pretty - in style and comfort!”

The feedback is testament to DB’s progression as a brand, which has seen it reassess its offer to ensure its product remains relevant in the marketplace.

“It’s at the core of our strategy to evolve season after season, without alienating our core consumer,” continues Denton. “We are introducing younger styles to appeal to wider audiences, while also staying true to our loyal customer base.”

Customers have also indicated that in-store service and retailer knowledge goes hand-in-hand with a brand such as DB, reporting that their purchasing decisions were often influenced by in-store advice.

“Once I'd had my feet measured, I tried on quite a few different shoes and came away with a pair of boots and shoes,” says Ms W from Telford, Shropshire. ““Nothing was too much trouble and there were quite a few customers to take care of, so it was definitely worth the two-hour drive. Prior to my visit, I had almost given up finding a wide enough shoe.”

For DB, the feedback is testament to the importance of working with quality independents for whom customer service is always paramount.

“We work with many good quality independent retailers and are grateful for the service they provide in promoting our brand to the wider public," says Denton. "Those who work with us have seen their business increase over the years; we hope that this continues!”

DB Shoes will return to Moda Footwear this season on 18-20 February.
