Platform to celebrate British fashion talent announced
The British Fashion Council (BFC) chairman Harold Tillman CBE and the Mayor of
London Boris Johnson have unveiled plans to celebrate British fashion talent in 2012.
Announced at the opening of London Fashion Week last Friday, the ‘Fashion 2012’
project will promote and showcase events, exhibitions and activity throughout the
Olympic year in order to celebrate fashion talent in the UK.
“We will ensure that our fashion reputation is showcased and celebrated to the broadest possible global audience,” said Harold Tillman CBE. “There are opportunities for the whole of the industry to get involved and participate.”
Fashion 2012 activities include a major push for British Menswear featuring a series of activities both in the UK and abroad. As well as a joint BFC/British Council project bringing the most exciting, emerging fashion designers to London for the Fashion 2012 International Fashion Showcase.
